Meeting Notes for July 12 & 19, 2017Another two-fer of meeting notes Ed. Note: This is my fault. Notetaker Sheri Hodson did get me the meeting notes for the July 12 meeting ahead of the July 19 meeting, but I did not get them edited and sent out. I would point out that her email with the notes was sent at 11:58 AM on July 19, a full two minutes before the start of the next meeting. I'll just have to try to be more efficient. |

Southgate Elementary and Clover Park Rotary celebrate Read Across America Day.Southgate Elementary and Clover Park Rotary celebrate Read Across America Day. In cities and towns across the nation, teachers, teenagers, librarians, politicians, actors, athletes, parents, grandparents, and others develop National Education Association's Read Across America activities to bring reading excitement to children of all ages. Clover Park Rotary recognizes the role reading plays in their community and provided a free spaghetti dinner for 600 kids and their families at Southgate on Thursday night. In addition to a great dinner, the fun filled night included a host of different fun reading activities for all ages and a book fair sponsored by Rotary. Southgate Elementary and Clover Park Rotary would like to thank the sponsors that helped provide the free spaghetti dinner, Carrs Restaurant, Custer Road McDonalds, Sysco foods and Tri-City meats. Thank you to these companies that have demonstrated a tremendous support for education in Lakewood. |
