PROGRAM
Jordan Jones (Community Engagement Manager) & Alyssa Reeves - Communities in Schools of Lakewood

Their mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

Communities in Schools of Lakewood is a nationally accredited affiliate of the nation’s largest provider of Integrated Student Support (ISS).  ISS allows them to promote student achievement, and break down barriers, by providing individual, group, and school-wide supports.

In partnership with Clover Park SD, their unique model places site coordinators inside schools to identify and address challenges students might face in school or at home.  These range from immediate needs like clothing and food to more long-term needs through one-on-one case management.

Nearly one in four students fails to graduate on time in Washington.  Communities In Schools offers a solution to the dropout problem. In partnership with public schools facing the greatest dropout challenges, Communities In Schools brings resources and volunteers into the school to help struggling students get back on track.

Upcoming fundraising event “We are CIS” 30th Anniversary Breakfast at McGavik Convention Center 4500 Steilacoom BLVD Wednesday 5/31 7:30-8:30.  Come and show your support.
